Is there wifi and cell service at Under Canvas?

There is limited cell service and zero wifi at Under Canvas. So make sure to do all your mapping/planning/instagramming ahead of time. If you do need access to internet (we both work remotely, so we know the struggle of being without) there are coffee shops with internet in both La Verkin and Springdale.

We wanted to send you something, didn’t you just move?

We just moved to Bend, Oregon. Our new address is:

1035 NW Ogden, Unit 2
Bend, Oregon 97703

How can we reserve a tent at Under Canvas?

Just call 435-359-2911 or email zion@undercanvas.com! Keep in mind that tents are first come, first serve, so if there’s a specific type of tent you really want, be sure to call right away. Simply tell them you’re coming to the McNally/Malenick wedding, they’ll have our guest list and be able to take great care of you.

Is Under Canvas basically camping?

Not at all! The tent’s are really nice with incredibly comfortable mattresses! The Deluxe, Suite, and Stargazer tents have private bathrooms in them and have been compared to a three star hotel, but frankly, we think they’re way nicer! There’s running water, a small restaurant, and multiple fire pits on the grounds. Please note, each tent has a small power source that is great for charging phones but not much else. The shared bathroom buildings will be able to power a hair dryer, but you won’t be able to use one in your room.

Where can we sleep if we’re not staying at Under Canvas?

We have a block of rooms saved for your slumber at La Quinta in Springdale, UT, a casual 20 min drive or shuttle ride away. Just call and say you’re with the McNally/Malenick wedding. More info on our Lodging page.

What should I wear/bring?

Here’s a few suggestions for your packing list that should make your stay as great as possible!

  • Headlamp or flashlight
  • Hawaiian print garb for the Tiki Taco Party on Friday
  • Hat/Sunglasses
  • Water bottle
  • Closed toed shoes (it’s dusty, and there are cacti)
  • No high heels (uneven terrain)
  • Something warm for night time
  • Comfortable hiking/adventure clothes for any daytime activities

When should we come?

We know how tough it is to get time with all our guests during a wedding, we wanted to make this a weekend-long celebration. We would love it if everyone could join us from Friday, October 5th to Sunday, October 7th, spending two nights at the Venue with us.

Can I bring my kids/dog?

Absolutely you can.

Like stated previously, we want you to treat this as your own vacation. And if your dog or kid will make you happy, bring them on board! Please note: Zion itself is a National Park, so dogs are only allowed in certain areas of the park (and nothing really that fun). However, there are lots of places in the area that are also quite beautiful and fun for dogs, and our venue is dog friendly! Please note that the area around our venue is full of spiky cacti that can easily get stuck in the paw of your pup, so we suggest keeping them close and maybe bringing their booties.

What’s the weather like?

Beautiful! It will be a perfect 70ish degrees during the day, but since we’re deep in the deserts of the southwest, it will be brisk at night (in the 40s) so be sure to pack some layers and warm clothes, especially if you’re a night owl and wish do some serious star-gazing. Rain is very unlikely but we’d recommend a jacket in case a drizzle occurs, but they usually come and go quickly if at all.

Can I camp at the venue or park my RV there?

Unfortunately no, but for our more adventurous friends and family, the closest reservable campsites/RV spots are at Zion River Resort just east of Virgin, UT, or just north of that on the same road to Under Canvas is some prime dispersed camping on BLM land.
